AMS / EXPERTISE

A focused first look.

Start with one patent family before committing to deeper work.

What the scope can include

  • Candidate standards and releases
  • Initial mapping observations
  • Strengths, gaps and next-step recommendation
Initial review

Deliverables, availability, fees and timing are agreed in a proposal before work begins. An initial enquiry does not create an engagement or an NDA.

The decision this supports

Decide whether one family warrants deeper technical analysis.

What to prepare

  • One patent family, a public publication number and the specific claims you want considered.
  • The decision you are trying to make and any standards or releases already of interest.

What you receive

The following is a proposed scope, confirmed in writing before engagement.

  • A short decision summary: candidate fit, unresolved questions and a next-step recommendation.
  • A preliminary mapping worksheet identifying candidate sources, assumptions and gaps.
  • An agreed follow-on scope if detailed charting is justified.

Proposed handover: a PDF summary and a source-referenced worksheet. Agree editable formats and any findings discussion in the proposal.

Where the scope stops

A complete claim chart, a search across every release, product testing and legal conclusions are outside an initial scan unless separately scoped.

Review and handover

Agree the source set and acceptance criteria first. The handover should identify assumptions and unresolved points, and distinguish findings from recommendations. Any revisions, walkthrough or follow-on work are specified in the proposal.

How we begin

Share your objective and, if useful, a public publication number. We clarify the scope and confidentiality requirements before requesting sensitive documents.

Technical findings support a decision; they do not establish validity, infringement or a legal outcome.
